PEDIATRICS
Pediatric care at NHSC Plainfield dates from 1969 when a "well baby station" was established to serve the Plainfield community. The department now provides a full spectrum of comprehensive primary care for children, aged newborn through adolescence, in a state-of-the-art facility, and at two school facilities.
Pediatrics at NHSC includes:
- Newborn child care
- Physicals to assess a child's growth and development
- Review of the major developmental achievements of a child's age group
- Family education and counseling
- Vision and hearing screening
- Immunizations
- School, camp, athletic and work physicals
- Treatment of acute and chronic illness
- Asthma Management
- School-based services at Plainfield High School and Washington Elementary School grade levels
- Care for hospitalized children
- Referrals for diagnostic and specialty services
- Case management for children with chronic disease

Urgent Care and Walk-Ins
Walk-in patients are seen for urgent care during all operating hours.
